About Nicky

Why Choose Me?

If you are looking for a Child and Young Person Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in the Saltburn or Stokesley area then let me introduce myself:

My name is Nicky (Nichola Martin) and I live in Saltburn by the Sea with my Partner and our cat Milo. I practice yoga and meditation which brings calmness and peace to the day.

Taking the plunge to engage in counselling, I know myself, takes courage and is a major step which often turns out to be a positive one in the long term. Counselling is a journey of personal self-discovery to find out what your strengths are, as well as what attributes and qualities you inherit unconsciously from your family group. Having undertaken some long-term therapy, myself I know this can be hard and painful at times, however, as you discover the meaning of your own thoughts and behaviour you begin to develop self-compassion for yourself and others which can provide clarity, reassurance and self-acceptance.

Undertaking bereavement counselling when there has been the sudden unexpected loss of an important person in a family can be confusing and scary for a child or young person. However, it is advisable to let a period of six months pass to allow time for everyone to come to terms with their loss and grief. After that, if you have reached a point where you need help and support for you and your family then please get in touch using the contact form below:
